Chain Conveyors in the Workplace

As mentioned in a previous post, there are many types of conveyors available to you today. The one that we are going to focus on in this post is what is referred to as a chain conveyor. These types of conveyors have a multitude of uses.

One of the most common uses for the chain style conveyor is for elevating products. Rather than depending on pallets, forklifts, and operators, you can use an efficient conveyor system. There is less risk of products being damaged, and of employees potentially getting injured on the job site.

Many warehouses also use a variety of plastic conveyors for inspection purposes. With the ability to move horizontally, at an incline or at a decline, this conveyor makes a great option. Employees will have to do less physical labor such as manually loading and unloading boxes onto and off of the conveyors.

The chain style conveyor that we provide is great for a variety of industries. It can be customized to a variety of chain widths, as well as the guardrails can either be permanently placed in position, or adjustable. You can also choose from roller deadplates or stainless steel flat deadplates.

Types Of Conveyor Systems

Conveyors have become an essential part of today's manufacturing businesses. They are often extremely useful for transporting bulky, heavy items through a facility. Even though one might only think of conveyors as being used for industries that make large products (cars, large machinery,...) they are commonly used for smaller products as well. Most food and packaging industries used conveyors in their facilities as well. They really help to send products effectively to the next person and quickly transport goods throughout the facility. It is amazing how much time and money can be saved by getting the right conveyor system set up in your facility.

There are several different types of conveyors including: chain conveyors, belt conveyors, chicaning conveyors and several more. Some have "tables" at the end that serve to accumulate the product prior to packaging. These are often called "mat top conveyors".

Ensuring that you have the right set-up in your facility is important. Installing elevators or lowerators may be necessary to ensure that products are moving from location to location as quickly and effectively as possible. It is also important to have a set-up that helps to maximize floor space. In order to fill this need, conveyor systems can also be customized in order to help serve each particular business's need.

Since these systems are so expensive, it's important to make sure to take good care of the equipment to ensure it will last as long as possible. Lack of lubrication is a common issue that causes problems down the road. If you have a chain conveyor it is important to make sure the chain is lubricated to reduce friction and prevent wear. Cleaning of the system is also important because materials like paint, powder, fluids, and other particles can get caught in the machine or build up and begin to wear the equipment down. If issues start to arise it is important to immediately call a maintenance company to get things checked on.
